19-03-2013 A Day To Remember
Today marks another BIG day!
Junming`ge and I finally got a home of our own!
It'll only be ready in 2018, nevertheless, it's such a big step for both of us!
Let me recap that day: The night before the selection, I couldn't sleep and I even dreamt about handling the HDB forms- that's how nervous I am. Our appt was in the bright morning at 10am, we reached at 9am, decided to grab a bite to calm ourselves. Obviously, doesn't help. When we reached the area, it was quite crowded. It's damn stressful and nervous just hearing every 'TING' when the next queue was called. We managed that for at least half an hr and it was EXTREMELY TORTUROUS! Junming's palms were sweating and I can't keep my foot on the ground. When our queue was called, we were fortunate to be attended by a friendly lady who told us to relax and that we were only 2nd in the queue for that estate. Most thankfully, our targetted unit wasn't taken. Phew~ The next hour was a blur, Junming & I have to keep signing and counter sign which really feels abit like in ROM scene, keke.. Anyway after that, we went to the showroom to look at the layout- yes, definately it is small with only a rough sqft of 65 but it's enough for us at the time-being (we will think about it when we have more kids). We are so ready for ideas of what we are going to do to our place, so very exciting! But now, we can only wait.................. Next stop- IKEA (I know right, like we can move in already -_-) but it was a quick run-through as my tiredness was kicking in. Slept so well after. :)) So if you're wondering, we got a 3-rm HDB at Ghim Moh. Alot of dummies asked, why 3-rm? So small! Of course I asked myself that before and of course it's because of our budget (DUH!). It's one of the pricer 3-rm but we have to pick it because of its good location. If you ask me what do I look for in a house, I would say.. location location AND location. If you know me well, u'll know how much I hate to travel. I also have to blame that I'm living at Tanjong Pagar now. Hands down Ghim Moh doesnt beat that but I got to settle at best and I think we did. I just hope people can be more thoughtful and don't ask such dumb question. I can't wait to share a home with him already. He said, we will make the best of what we have, and I believe we will. So happy right now. Love, Hazel |
