Bangkok
5th ANNIVERSARY TRIP
BANGKOK
After Xmas countdown, went home in the early morning to nap. In the evening, Junming’ge came over to pack our luggage, then we took last train to the airport and slacked (JM slept) till morning. I’m a pro, previous night still drunk kay! lolx.
Anywhere everywhere can slp.
Arrival
Coincidentally, JM’s army friend also went with his gf on the same day & were on the same flight! They were staying at MY Hotel (funny name), not very nice. While we stayed at Best Western Mayfair Suites Hotel (super long name), and we all agree, mine was like damn great if you’re on tight budget. I strongly recommend this hotel =)
Anyway, they had their airport transfer while we’ve to catch a cab upon arrival. It was BAD! The taxi driver dropped us outside and told us to walk into the alley (soi) on our own due to the horrible traffic jam. Then we lost our way cos there are just too many streets & people! FINALLY someone understood our English and with a lot of effort, we finally reached the hotel. Luckily my luggage endured the rocky+uneven road. I wonder how people can walk on those roads on heels.
Received a call from them that they wanted to go with us so we met up after check-in, then went straight to PLATINUM MALL, our far eastx5 at least. Whenever I came out of that place, my head feels dizzy, too much turn left turn right for my neck. After that went PRATUNUM MARKET, known for their cheap pricing, our bugisx5. Both are wholesale markets, so you can imagine how much I NEED TO BUY, see 1 must buy 2. ha. Oh, and I saw my poly seniors there. Qiao.
Our 1st meal: A&W (disappointing!)
Then, we went back hotel to freshen up then off we went to VESPA NIGHT MKT. I love love love that place, regret not buying more accessories. It’s like a flea mkt, selling a lot of 2nd hands stuff, only opened on Sat, so quite crowded but its so nice to see so many people at night. =))
Realized we’ve somemore time, took MRT to SIUM LUM NIGHT MKT. Their people don’t seems to take train, very empty and very cold~~~ Anyway Sium Lum got many Ang Mohs & alot of Gays, so that explains why they’re selling more guys stuff. Nv buy anything from there but I saw another friend -_- Small World.
Roadside selling banana roti-prata, DAMN NICE! Super sweet! *rare finds*
Took cab back to hotel, no difficulties after you know how to instruct. Str away knock out, too tired.
Went to CHATUCHAK, the famous weekend mkt. An advice for guys who’re going, you see anything there, JUST BUY! Alot of nice Tees, alot alot alot of many other things, nice just buy cos everything is so cheap! The things are different from elsewhere. Alot of street food also. BUT VERY HOT, I REPEAT, VERY HOT.
Went back to hotel with Maggie mee, and we were aslp soon after. Too tired, have to rest a night to RECHARGE, its was a good move.
The other 2 went to 5* hotel to dine. Eugene said he wanna spent like a King. lolx.
Mission: To clear as many 'far east' as possible
All the below shopping malls are interlink, so convience! LOVES! 1st stop- MBK Shopping Centre They all bought snacks home (except me) and heng cos Eugene & Jovin gonna carry the bulky stuff for hrs while shopping! 2nd stop- Bonanza Shopping Centre Another far east 3rd stop- 29 Plaza Jovin and I did pedicure & manicure respectively, abt $10 with designs! 4th stop- Central World HUGE! VivoCityx3 But price also like VIVO, so nth much, don’t go there! 5th stop- Siam Square Their outdoor pub like super nice! Super big area & crowded! Too bad all 4 of us are poor drinkers, LOLX
Went back to hotel to freshen up for the late night activities! Proceeded to KHAO SAN ROAD, you will see a lot of backpackers’ at that area and so, many ang mohs at the pubs/clubs there. 1side with pubs/clubs, another side are the shops. It was yet another nice place to shop AND chill. In the end, spotted a nice fruit store and we chilled there instead, HAHA!
Suppose to have buffet later in the late morning, so we went walk around to see if there is any good massage place, then decided to try fish spa, all first timer. Junming & Jovin was like damn scare, always in & out of the pool -_- Only at the very last 1min, Junming tahan then he said quite shiok -_-
Ate lunch buffet @ Baiyoke Sky hotel (tallest building @ Bkk), must make booking! After buffet, you can go up to their top flr where the revolving platform is.
Hurried to CHINATOWN, but there really isn’t anything so we went back Siam area (their Orchard area) to shop at other shopping centre that we hadn’t been. Ate @ 1 of the seafood restaurant, we had the crab glass noodle, sharksfin & birdnest.
After dinner, we crazily went for massage. We chose the full body massage instead of the traditional Thai massage thinking it wont kill us BUT IT NEARLY KILLED ME!
Thought the night is over? NO! We headed down to Memorial Bridge Night Mkt. Some super cheap buys! Saw their flower mkt, Junming refused to buy roses for me thou. =( Went back to hotel & had cup noodles, then chit chat play games for their last nite
(Theirs were 5D4N)
After sending them off at their hotel, we headed down to Platinum and Pratunum again for shopping. Its true that although we’ve been there before, but it seems like a different shopping centre cos that place is too big to cover all in a day, need 2full day maybe. AHH! What a shopping heaven! Then at night went BIG C, our IMM. Didn’t get anything there but the night mkt outside was nice!
Stayed up late to pack my luggage, had abit of difficulties squeezing in all the stuff Omg.. I love this feeling.. =DD
Last afternoon, went Platinum & Pratunum again for last min shopping. Ate super good roadside store food and coconut (best I had so far, the meat was almost transparent!) I thought flight was at 7pm, so we reached airport at 5pm (2hrs before), in the end discovered that it was a 8pm flight, OMG! LOL! To top that, I realized I left my SIM card in the hotel’s drawer. HAHA! Junming`ge pissed at me lo, haha.. You can see big posters of the King everywhere, EVERYWHERE.
Great place, great people, great shopping, great services, everything's great! Will miss BKK alot, hope to go Bkk next yr again, omg.. love that country. A great trip to mark our 5th Anniversary. =)
